DCST has 104 Career Best Times at DCST Open

        DCST finished off a very productive weekend by achieving 104 career best times at the DCST Open.  DCST had a total of 174 swims, so the team’s improvement rate was an astonishing 60%.  DCST had 10 swims in which a swimmer swam a new event legally for the first time.  DCST also had 4 swims which achieved the District Qualifying, 12 swims which achieved the State Qualifying time, and 6 swims which achieved an Age Group Qualifying time for the first time. Furthermore, DCST set 3 new team records.

Next weekend, DCST starts the Championship Meet season.  The first meet is the Jr. District and District Championships at DCST on March 5 and 6.  Everyone is encouraged to enter this meet.  This is a championship meet for all swimmers.  Swimmers who don’t have District Qualifying times will be entered in the Jr. District events.  In order to participate in this meet, swimmers must have swum in 3 “YMCA” meets this season.  The one exception is swimmers who swam on a High School swim team.  These swimmers must have participated in 2 “YMCA” meets.

On March 10 – 13, DCST will participate in the Age Group Championship Meet at UIC in Chicago.  This meet is for swimmers ages 14 and younger who achieved an Age Group Qualifying time in a USA Swimming sanctioned meet.  Everyone who has achieved these time standards is highly encouraged to attend this meet.

On March 19 & 20, DCST will be participating in the YMCA State Meet in St. John, IN.  All swimmers who have achieved a YMCA State Qualifying time are highly encouraged to attend this meet.  In order to participate in this meet, swimmers must have also participated in the District Championship Meet.

The last championship meet of the season will be on April 4 – April 8 in Greensboro, NC for the YMCA National Championships.  All swimmers who have achieved a YMCA National Qualifying time are highly encouraged to attend this meet.
