Ten DCST Swimmers Compete at IHSA Sectional Meets (5 Qualify for State Meet)
Ten DCST High School Girls swam for two different high school teams at the IHSA Sectional Meets at two different Sectional Meets. Five of these swimmers qualified for the IHSA State meet.
DeKalb / Sycamore Co-op– All nine boys on the DeKalb / Sycamore Sectional team are DCST swimmers (Jacob Bjork, Austin Bockman, Nathan Braun, Daniel Hein, Riley Lohse, Dylan Rasmussen, Bradley Ruetten, Tyler Schultz and Tyler Theis). As a team, they finished 3rd at the St. Charles Sectional Meet. Jacob Bjork, Austin Bockman, Daniel Hein, Riley Lohse and Dylan Rasmussen all qualified for and placed at the IHSA State Meet. Their results are as follows:
- Jacob Bjork – 6th 100 yard Breaststroke and 18th 100 yard Freestyle
- Daniel Hein – 1st 100 yard Backstroke with a new IHSA State Record and 2nd 100 yard Butterfly
- Daniel Hein, Jacob Bjork, Dylan Rasmussen and Riley Lohse – 6th 200 yard Medley Relay
- Riley Lohse, Austin Bockman, Jacob Bjork and Daniel Hein – 12th 400 yard Freestyle Relay
In team scoring, the Co-op placed 8th in the state.
Ottawa (Marquette) – Noah Dean represented Ottawa (Marquette) High School. Noah swam with DCST during the season as his high school does not have an official high school team; therefore, the team was not allowed to score points at the Metea Valley (Aurora) Sectional Meet.
