Hello Stingrays Families!
Welcome to the 2016 season. The Stingrays Board of Directors and
Coaches have been working hard in the off season to plan a fun
filled and successful season.
Coach Steve and Coach Joe are excited to introduce competitive swim lessons - more focused instructions from our returning deck coaches, Ashlynn Smith, Skyelar Clouse and Sophie Silberman. Also returning to mentor or young swimmers are Alyssa Mainini, Jayme Davis, Gabriella Tenret and Jessica Scott along with new coaches in training, Elian
Salindong and Amber Iniguez. We are continuing to develop our coaching staff for the future from within our Stingray family.
We have placed 2nd in our league for the last 2 seasons and as a
Team, Board, and Coaching staff it is our goal to be league
champions this season or in the near future. In addition to the
teams we faced in dual meets last year, we have added the Pleasant
Hill dolphins to increase the chance of competitions for our
New fundraising opportunities will include concessions at the pool. We will be selling pre-packaged food at our home meets and spirit wear is back and designed by Coach Steve. Look out for various fundraising activities and team social events throughout the season. We are also bringing back the “you’ve been stung” program.
Additionally, we have also started a new program where we pair
new swim families with seasoned families, to answer questions and
help guide them through their first season.
Calling all volunteers! There are various ways to fulfill your volunteer commitment of thirty units. It takes approximately sixty volunteers to run our home meets and we need timers, plungers, recorders, paper runners, ribbon volunteers, relievers and more! There are still a couple of core positions available and we need a Starter and Head Shepherd. Please contact Jen Gouvaia, our volunteer coordinator will be available to answer any questions. She can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Enjoy the season and Go Stingrays!
