Aquaknights and Otter Invitational Results
Highlights from the Aquaknights meet:

We had a great meet as a team, and a lot of improved times!
  • We had 92 swimmers attend the meet, and we competed in 275 individual events. Of those     swims, 125 were best times- that is a 45% improvement as a team and is AWESOME!!!
  • Also out of the 275 swims only 18 were DQ's which is 6% also an AWESOME stat!
  • We also had 2 team records broken at the meet- Andrew Maichel broke a 13 yr. old record in the 13-14 boys IM with a time of 1:03.96, he shattered the previous record of 1:04.44 by Daniel Maroon (Joe and I coached him for 5 years with the Pinole Seals before the family moved to Benicia). Aden Li (35.83) narrowly broke Pierce Tenret (35.87) 9-10 boys Butterfly record.
The Final score from the meet - Aquaknights 385, Stingrays - 335.  It was an extremely close meet.

We wanted to explain to all the new and returning member's how swim meets are scored. For individual events 1st=5, 2nd=3, &3rd= 1 (any heat can score); relays 1st= 6, & 2nd = 3 (only "A" relays score). In a perfect meet if a team wins all 3 individual events places in every age/gender, and 1st in all relays they would score 666 pts. With that being stated a 50 point loss is considered a close meet.
