After each meet, the coaching staff picks two swimmers, one girl and one boy, as the “Big Dogs" of the meet. Big Dogs are not only selected on their performance in the meet, but the coaches also take into consideration the swimmer’s practice attendance, work ethic, team spirit and sportsmanship. For this meet, Abby DeDina, age 10, and Charlie Nellinger, age 9, were selected as Big Dogs of the meet.

At this meet, DCST had swimmers achieve a District Qualifying time for the first time this season 13 times, while DCST swimmers achieve an Area Qualifying time for the first time this season 5 times.  At the DCST Winter Classic next weekend (Friday, February 12 – Sunday, February 14), the DCST Coaching Staff expects its swimmers to achieve a lot more of these time standards.  In fact, of our remaining meets this season, the team will achieve more best times and more new qualifying time standards than any of the other remaining meets.
