EBAT Swimmers make big splash at Junior Olympics at Cal High

EBAT had 5 swimmers compete in the Junior Olympic short course championships on March 15 & 16. This meet was one of the largest meets attended all year. Carson Sand represented our EBAT age groupers by swimming the 100 & 50 breast. He got a best time in the 100 breast with a 1:24.32. Not only did this break his own 9-10 EBAT record, but it also got him his first PRT! A PRT is a Pacific reportable time. This is also EBAT’s first PRT for anyone under 11 years old. Great Job, Carson!! Stephanie Chen came to the meet to swim her 200 free. She did an excellent job by taking off another 1 ½ seconds in that event. Nice job, Stephanie. Nate Walters put in a great effort swimming 4 events over the two days. He didn’t get any best times, but swam strong races and never gave up. Fran Yi swam 6 events – stayed right on her times and raced hard every time, winning a couple of her heats. Alyssa Chew was also there. She swam her three freestyle events, (50,100,&200) and although she did not get any best times, she raced hard and had some great swims. Good job, Alyssa.
