SFU LMR Recap

This past Mother’s Day weekend we had swimmers at two separate meets, the West Coast Open in Richmond and the SFU LMR Meet in Burnaby.  Some of our Achieve group even swam at BOTH meets!  The top highlight of the SFU Meet was Josh swimming his first 1500 Freestyle in a breathtaking 19:47.64 during Sunday’s distance events.  Josh wanted to get his AA time in the event and overshot that goal by about a minute, finishing 22 seconds under the AAA time standard.  Way to Go!  Jessie swam the 800 Free on Saturday and took off 10 seconds to break the 12&under club record!

Meghan had a spectacular meet dropping over 10 seconds in her 200 Breaststroke getting very close to the A time standard.  Tiger had a breakthrough in his 100m Backstroke and 100m Freestyle, getting closer to the A time standard as well.  Atria and Brooke swam in their first ever LMR Meet!  Atria swam two amazing 50’s to go 100% best times, Brooke also took time off in her 50m Breaststroke and swam her first 50m Butterfly!  These two girls are gaining valuable experience, setting them up for LMR Champs in June.

Congratulations to Emily as well who swam in both the West Coast Open and SFU LMR meet, great work! Emily had a big drop in her 200m Freestyle and swam her first 200m Backstroke!

After all this great racing the next meet for swimmers in all of our groups will be the Whistler Invitational May 27-28!
