CLIPPERS WIN!! CLIPPERS WIN!! CLIPPERS WIN!! (UPDATED)

The final night of swimming at the 2010 Ohio Junior Olympics was not one for those who have a nervous stomach. Last year’s meet came down to the final night of swimming and the Clippers fell 37 points short of bringing home the trophy. This year we had a determined group of swimmers, coaches and fans that did not want to come home empty handed AND……..THEY WON!!!! In another gut wrenching night of swimming that was full of excitement with a bunch of mentally and physically exhausted swimmers battling it out, they pulled off the win beating the 2nd place Marlins by 35 and the 3rd place defending champion Dayton Raiders by over 200 points.

“In all my years of coaching I have never seen our fans cheer so loud and be so much fun, they made such a big impact on the kids and coaches. The parents were great and a blast to watch.” Coach Melissa said with tears of joy.

With our 14 & unders being finished for the most part (Sectionals still remain), I have to brag about all of our age groups. This season has been such a special season. Our swimmers have worked so hard and even if the swimmers did not qualify for the JO’s they too were a big part of this victory. State Championships are won during practice. Every swimmer that participates in practice and gives their best effort plays a huge role in our team winning the big ones. If you are battle tested in practice it allows for us to go into meets like this one and come out victorious.

Congratulations to all members of the Clippers Family especially to all of our swimmers who are finished for the season. You have already brought home so many great moments this season (Mary-Lou, Age Group Regionals, Age Group State and Senior State.) Thank you to the parents for being such an important part of this season. Congratulations to all of the coaches for a job well done.

Next up for the Clippers are NCSA Junior Nationals and Speedo Sectionals.
