Oh Rats!

 (Better late than never...)

Oh RATS, The Geneva River Rats devoured DCST at the meet they hosted on July 6th.

A small group of DCST swimmers participated in the meet at Geneva on the 6th of July.  I complimented the hosting team’s coaches on how smoothly the meet went this year.  We were ahead of schedule, the temperature was very comfortable, the bugs were at bay, and the water was ready to be raced in.  Unfortunately, we did not come out of the meet as victoriously as we did when they visited us.  The final score had the River Rats at 454 and DCST at only 253.  The biggest difference between our two meets with Geneva was the number of swimmers who attended.  We were in almost full force at home, but had a much smaller crew at Geneva’s pool.

Our top scoring athletes were:

  • Nathan Braun – 11 points
  • Georgia Harrelson – 10 points
  • Evan Johnson – 15 points
  • Noah Johnson – 9 points
  • Savion Mach – 13 points
  • Madelyn Marunde – 15 points
  • Luke Oland – 11 points
  • Alex Schlueter – 15 points
  • Domenico Schlueter – 13 points
  • Alex Skrzypek – 9 points
  • Nicole Skrzypek – 11 points

Personal Best Times were achieved by 24 swimmers:

  • Molly Allison – 2 events
  • Nina DeLaCruz – 1 event
  • Sam DeLaCruz – 1 event
  • Aydan Dunne – 1 event
  • Ana Fell – 2 events
  • Matteo Graham – 2 events
  • Georgia Harrelson – 1 event
  • Noah Johnson – 1 event
  • Andrew Martenez – 2 events
  • Luke Oland – 2 events
  • Aiden Page – 2 events
  • Camilla Palacios – 1 event
  • Max Palacios – 2 events
  • Jack Ploog – 1 event
  • Hannah Raetzke – 1 event
  • Alex Schlueter – 1 event
  • Alex Skrzypek – 1 event
  • Isiss Stuckey – 1 event
  • Kevin Sullivan – 2 events
  • Caleb Vosika – 2 events
  • Ethan Welch – 2 events
  • Ritta Wi – 2 events
  • SEAN HARRELSON – ALL 3 EVENTS!!!

Loved the team spirit.  If we had a parent spirit award, I would award it to Abraham Palacios.  He was at the far end of the pool cheering on every DCST swimmer that he knew.  Thanks for being a part of our team!

Big Dogs for the meet were:  Isiss Stuckey (12) and Matteo Graham (9).
