Stroke and Turn Officials needed

GET INVOLVED IN YOUR CHILD’S SPORT.  BECOME A STROKE AND TURN OFFICIAL.  BEST SEAT IN THE HOUSE, BE RIGHT ON DECK.

BBST has a need for parents to step forward and become swimming officials.  According to Pacific Northwest Swimming’s recommendations, each team should have at least 1 official for every 10 swimmers.  We have approximately 150 swimmers, so we should have 15 officials.  We currently only have 6 officials.

In order to become a stroke and turn official, you must attend a short clinic, take an open book test, join USA Swimming and train at several meets shadowing the certified officials.

There is a stroke and turn clinic being offered on Saturday April 24th from 9:00 to 11:30 am at the Oak Harbor pool.  The link for signing up is on the Pacific Northwest Swimming (PNS) website.  Go to officials link clinic and notify Jeff Moorman that you wish to attend.

BBST reimburses the class fee, pays your USA swimming membership and there are possible tax deductions for working at meets.  If you have any questions about becoming an official, contact Mike Doyle at 360-592-5158.
