Meet Recap :

Far Western Championships:

Congratulations to Paige Arnold, Sophie Boden, Maddie Oesterer, Simon Lins, Aaron Wu, Brian Wu and Giovanni Wenzler who represented PST at this year’s LC Far Western Championships in Concord in individual events and our 11-12 year old boy relay with Simon Lins, Bailey Cain, Jack Bell and Parker Long. It was a very fast meet with swimmers coming from all over including clubs from Canada and Mexico. All PST swimmers did superbly well and improving on their personal best times. Special congratulations to Simon Lins who won the 50m and 100m Backstroke and made finals in almost all of his events.

Western Zone Age Group Championships:

Simon Lins represented Pacific Swimming at last week's Western Zone Age Group Championships in Roseville, CA. To compete in this meet the top swimmers were chosen from their LSC and competed against other LSCs from the Western Zone. Simon made finals in all of his events and placed in the top 3 in multiple of them. He was part of the winning 12&U Pacific 400m Freestyle, 400m Medley, 200m Medley and 200m Freestyle relay team. Simon was the lead off swimmer in 3 of them and his 400m Medley relay broke a new Western Zone record and 200m Medley relay broke a new Pacific Swimming record. Pacific Swimming came 1st overall. Congratulations to Simon and Pacific Swimming for this huge achievement!

Safe Sport Update :

For several months PST has been taking steps to proactively embrace best practices to foster a healthy team environment. Our goal is to have a thoughtful program in place that allows athletes and community members develop as swimmers and coaches without intended, or unintended slights or distractions. Our team aims to be a leader in this area. USA Swimming has a number of educational programs and guidelines which the board and coaches have used to develop policies. As each policy is adopted, it is posted on the Website under Parent Info. All policies are discussed first at board meetings on the public agenda; parental input is welcome. Included below is a basic introduction to some concepts of the Safe Sport program. Our team Safe Sport Coordinator is Kate Arnold ( ), who along with the coaching staff and Board Members, is a resource to athletes and parents when questions/concerns arise.
