Team November/December Newsletter

NNA News

NNA. We are heading towards the end of the year and we have several events outside as well as in the pool to go over.  Our practice schedule will remain consistent with only a few changes during the Thanksgiving holiday noted below in the practice schedule page.

Please take a look at the schedules and let me know if you have any questions.

The upcoming NNA events for the remainder of the year will be listed below on the schedule and underlined.  These events will need volunteers from our team to help run smoothly.

The new NNA swim meet schedule through August 2018 is now up on our web site.  There may be some changes but this should help you get a head start planning our your year.  Save the dates of March 24-25 for our NNA AGO and July 20-22 for our NNA Silver State Championships.

Check out our website for purchasing NNA apparel for the holiday season under the “Team” and then ‘Team Store’ tab.

You can also go to and select Northern Nevada Aquatics as your non-profit of choice and a percentage of your purchase gets donated back to our team.

Lastly, we are a nonprofit.  We have decided to make a donation to the swimmers who had their homes effected in the California fires.  We will be donating swim equipment and you can make a personal donation to help them out.  NNA will match any monetary donations up to $2500 to help get those swimmers back swimming.  Contact Erik for more information.

Meet and Events Recap:

As always, full results are available on our web sit when they are available under the News tab.

We only had a few swimmers do the distance meet this year and we had some strong mid season swims. It was a fun team travel trip.

NNA Novice Meet October 21st in Carson

We held our annual Halloween novice meet in Carson this year and had 117 swimmers participate.  It was a huge success!  Our next one will be late December or early January

Team Halloween Party

We had over 100 team members attend our annual Halloween party.  You can see some of the costumes up on our teams facebook page.

Nevada State Championships

We had great team participation this year.  Over 50 swimmers came to swim in individual or relay events.  We had many strong swims.  Next year we will be back in Vegas.  I loved the hats our team sported.  It showed the team spirit.

Other Tidbits:

Burn off the Bird Endurance Challenge

We are hosting an Endurance Challenge this year for a fall fundraiser.  Hands for Life will be sponsoring our event where athletes can do a 10k, 7.5k, or 5k.  I would like all swimmers to participate and all families to help volunteer.  You can sign up on our web site under the online registration tab on the home page.
