When you complete all of the IMR events or IMX events within a season, you get a score. With that score you can see how you are ranked within the Team / LSC / Zone / Nation among other athletes who have also completed the required events.
Also, in order to promote these events, the San Diego LSC (local swim committee) is offering a program for swimmers to recieve "scholarship" money, when heading off to college. Each season an athlete completes the IMX events between 7th and 12th grade, they will be eligible for $25 scholarship (up to 12 season max) after graduating high school. Graduating seniors, who are still competing, can apply and will recieve up to $300 for this.
Swimmers can always check their IMX info on their "deck pass" on the USA swimming website.
