March SWIMMER OF THE MONTH chosen
April 24, 2010
This swimmer has learned to manage her time so efficiently that she can play field hockey in the fall, and still manage to get to swim practice every day, AND, be an honor roll student! Her kindness to others, and her leadership skills, were evident when she organized a Christmas party to collect toys for tots, and was able to donate over 138 toys for this worthy program.
In the pool, Jen Marrkand shows a competitiveness and drive that translates into constant improvement and best times in her end of season meets. After suffering a fractured arm three weeks before championships, Jen still went to practice every day in order to stay in shape for the big meet. Despite this injury, Jen had an amazing championship meet where she placed 4th in highpoint. Coach, Jeff Johnson, of the Patriot Swim Club, is very proud of what Jen has accomplished and knows that her great attitude will be a major key to her future successes.
