Chena Meet Review

Chena Invitational and Chena Distance Meet Review

The Chena Invitational is always a great meet for our young swimmers and this year continued the trend with outstanding swimming from all 19 Hurricanes that attended!

Nicolas, Kate, Kennedy, Roger and Sarah all participated in their first swim meet!

Addy qualified for LMR (Lower Mainland Region) Meets with her time of 3:57.05 in the 200m Individual Medley, it was a great swim knocking off 8 seconds from her previous best time!

Keala and Meghan both qualified for SwimBC Tier I Provincial Championships! Keala qualified with her big swims in the 200m Individual Medley (2:59.49) and 50m Freestyle (31.18)! Meghan raced under not only the 10 year old standard but also the 11 year old standard in the 200m Individual Medley! Meghan’s time of 3:06.63 in the 200m Individual Medley also set a new club record!

Claire raced the 200m Individual Medley for the first time and posted a very impressive time of 4:12.62, only 12 seconds off of her LMR time!

Our strong 200m Individual Medley racing continued with Tessa dropping 19 seconds off her previous best and Atria finishing 11 seconds under her best time!

We had so many big improvements at the meet! Here are a few more:
Zach took off 20 seconds in his 100m Freestyle! Addy improved by 12 seconds in her 100m Freestyle! Rebecca took off 13 seconds from her 50m Breaststroke time! Sam and Payton both took off 4 seconds in their 25m Backstroke swims! Tessa dropped 16 seconds in her 50m Butterfly! Esme knocked 24 seconds off her 100m Freestyle time! Cameron raced to an 8 second improvement in her 50m Freestyle! Kiera took off 5 seconds in both her 25m Freestyle and 25m Backstroke events! James took off 12 seconds in his 50m Freestyle and 7 seconds in his 25m Freestyle!

We look forward to all of our swimmers in Discover 1, Discover 2 and Dream racing at our own Development Meet on Sunday, February 25th!
