Sculling States Info

The 2018 FSRA Sculling Championships are being held Saturday April 14th and 15th at Nathan Benderson Park in Sarasota.  We will cover all the details at tomorrows Parent Meeting in the Plant Media Center at 7:15pm

Volunteers: http://www.signupgenius.com/go/60b0f48a8a728a6fb6-fsra
The Florida Scholastic Rowing Association is hosting the event, but it is required that all entering schools provide volunteers for the event.  Please sign up for your dream job! A few lucky volunteers will get to follow races on a golf cart!

As always, please send your athlete to the event with a gallon of water PER DAY. They should also bring a reusable water bottle.

VIP FINISH LINE TOWER VIEWING
For the first time, tickets will be sold to access the finish line tower.  $30 for half day access.  Refreshments will be provided.  We need to meet our volunteer requirements, but this may be a great option to see the racing and get out of the weather this weekend :-)  Proceeds go FSRA to improvement future races.

Sculling State Championship (for athletes listed below)

This race will run both Saturday and Sunday.  The race committee is watching the weather - we will know Friday afternoon if there are any changes to the race schedule (racing may condense down to Saturday only).
The athletes will bus back and forth to Sarasota both days (no overnight stay)
The bus will depart 5:30 am departure from Plant High both mornings. Return times will depend on results and race progression.  We will update via twitter/facebook throughout the race day.

Race Info (Schedule & Results) can be found at: https://www.regattacentral.com/regatta/?job_id=4605&org_id=0
Those not racing this weekend will be given a workout to complete on their own and are encouraged to come down to Sarasota and cheer on the team! There will not be regular Friday or Saturday practice in Tampa.

Athlete Trailer Area Restrictions***
The trailer and dock area will be fenced off and accessible only to athletes and coaches this year.  Please be respectful of the volunteers working to enforce this restriction.  With the large number of boats launching and recovering, limiting foot traffic around the docks will help keep everyone involved safe.
