Day! Come join us for us for some Halloween Fun in and out of
the water. We will have a Creepy Costume Contest, Ghoulish relays
and games and a frightening potluck afterwards.

will be NO PRACTICE this Friday October 26th. The TCAL High School
Water Polo Championships is being held at Cunningham Pool. There
will be no practice for any groups on this day. We will instead be
holding a Saturday practice for ALL groups on October 27th starting
at 7:00am for all groups.

PACIFIC SWIMMING REGISTRATION
It's time for all VJO swimmers to renew their Pacific Swimming
Registration for the 2019 season. Families please write a check
($73 per swimmer) made out to "PACIFIC SWIMMING"
and place in the Membership File Folder at the
pool. All checks are due by November 1st 2018.

What is the Pacific Swimming Registration
Fee?
The
Pacific Swimming Registration fee provides the swimmer with a
National Registration Number (USA number), which is used when
entering all swim meets, and USA insurance coverage during workouts
and meets. This Registration is required each calendar year
to renew membership to Pacific Swimming.
USA
Swimming no longer mails out Registration/Membership
cards. Once the member is in the database, registration can be
verified online and you can print your own registration
card through www.usaswimming.org/deckpass.
- Pacific Swimming also
participates in the USA Swimming Outreach Program and offers
registration at the USA Swimming registration fee of $5.00 with no
additional fees to Pacific Swimming. Valid September 1, 2018 -
December 31, 2019.
- Any change of address
or information, please fill up a new Pacific swimming registration
form attached.

SAFETY AWARENESS MONTH
for VJO SWIMMERS
This month our coaching staff will be focussing on and
addressing safety with all our athletes. We will be reviewing
pool rules, reviewing team rules, reviewing the swimmer code
of conduct, and teaching athletes ways to stay safe in the
pool & other bodies of water. Make sure to ask your swimmer
what they have learned this week about safety on the pool
deck.
VJO BREAST CANCER AWARENESS
FUNDRAISER
October is Breast
Cancer Awareness Month. To help raise awareness VJO is selling Pink
VJO Team T-Shirts and Pink Team Caps. 50% of the proceeds will be
donated to a Breast Cancer Foundation. Last year we donated
$100 to the Pink Fund. Let's meet or exceed that this
year! The Coaches will be wearing these pink team shirts at
our next October Meet and we invite you to do the
same. Attached is the order form that can be filled out
and left in the Alvarado file folder or you can email [email protected] with your
order. Payment can be charged to your account or
you can pay by cash or check.

VJO HELPS FEED THE
HUNGRY AND HOMELESS - Nov 11th 4-7pm
Come help VJO give back to the community. On Sunday,
November 11th from 4-7pm 15-20 VJO swimmers will be helping
out with the "Sparrow Project" and feeding the hungry and
homeless. This will take place at the 1st Baptist Church in
Vallejo. Our swimmers will help set up from 4-5pm, help serve food
from 5-6pm and then help clean up from 6-7pm. One of our
local schools, St. Cathrines will be cooking the food for us to
serve. This is a great way for our swimmers to get involved in
their community. Swimmers can also count this toward
their community service requirements for school.

How to Order a Team
Suit?
If you missed our last Team Suit Fitting Day don't worry, you
can order team suits, parka's and other gear at any time. Just take
an order form down to Making Waves Swim Shop in Walnut Creek
and you can place an order at any time. Make sure you try on a team
suit first. Order forms for team suits, team parka's and team
gear are attached below. Order Forms can also be found on our
team website and at the pool.

3-4th is CLOSED for ENTRIES! This is our team meet for the month of
November.
TIME: Saturday – arrive
at 7:15am

start at 7:30am on Saturday and Sunday and
the meet will start at 9:00am each
day. A special warm-up time for 8 and under athletes only will be
held from 8:45 to 8:55 AM

DIRECTIONS: From the north of San Ramon follow I-680 S
to Bollinger Canyon Rd in San Ramon. Take exit 34 from I-680
S. Take San Ramon Valley Blvd and St Denis Dr. to Broadmoor Dr. Do
not park where no parking signs or permit parking only signs are
posted. You will be ticketed or towed. No overnight/RV parking
allowed.

up are a group at 7:30am and the meet will start at 9am.
TRAVELING
TOGETHER -
For Senior level meets our VJO swimmers travel
together. I will need two
parents to drive ALL our swimmers to the meet and back each day. Please email me if
you can be one of our drivers. We will meet at the Cunningham Pool at 6:15am each
morning. Parents, you are always welcome to come out and
cheer on our swimmers. Our Senior swimmers just need to travel together
as a team.

The
Daily City Dolphins will be our team meet for the month of
December. This is also the last chance meet for Zone 3 Winter
Champs. This meet will be opening any day. Please
keep your eyes out for the team email when the meet opens. Please
get signed up ASAP. We don't want our swimmers to miss out on the
last meet of the season.
