February 15, 2019
We are very excited for our annual Swim4Funds fundraiser which will occur on Saturday, February 23, 2019. Although the date remains the same, our Board of Directors has decided to change the venue and time of the event. Instead of having the event at the Carson City pool at 4:30 on Saturday, February 23, we will be having it at Northwest pool at 7:30 am on the same date of Saturday, February 23.
There are a few of reasons for this, but the main reason is to facilitate the largest amount of participation. First, the extended forecast does not look good right now, with another storm system lining up for the end of next week. Of course, that could change, but we want to have the best possibility for a strong turn-out. Second, while the only available time for the entire team to swim together in Carson was on Saturday evening from 4:30 until 6:30 pm, we now recognize this is not a great time for many families. Finally, the board feels that by keeping the event in Reno during the normal Saturday practice time slot, which is 2.5 hours, more families will participate.
More information on the schedule for next Saturday morning will be coming shortly, but we wanted to get this update out to you as soon as possible. If this change in scheduling is a hardship, please let us know and we will do our best to ensure your swimmer can get those laps counted at another time.
Swim4Funds is not only our largest fundraiser of the year, but an opportunity to bring the entire team together for fitness and friendship. We look forward to seeing our RENO families come together for our annual Swim4Funds next Saturday, February 23 from 7:30 – 10 am at the Northwest pool.
