Whistler Invitational Recap

Congratulations to our ten swimmers who raced this past weekend at the Whistler Seawolves Invitational! It was the first short course meet since March for our LMR swimmers and a great meet for our youngest swimmers to swim longer events for the first time. The meet was filled with fantastic results and was a fun event for our team.

Sarah raced to her SwimBC Age Group Championships standard in the 200m Individual Medley, which means that she is fully qualified for the meet in Chilliwack, June 21-23! Sarah took off 23 seconds from her previous best time to finish with a fast 3:12.88! She also raced to new short course time standards in the 100m Breaststroke and 100m Backstroke while taking off time in all seven of her races!

Keala had a great meet, with a big breakthrough swim in the 100m Breaststroke dropping six seconds and finishing with a time of 1:23.91, well under the SwimBC Provincial Championships time standard! She also had impressive swims in her 100m Backstroke breaking 1:20 for the first time, 200m Freestyle and 50m Breaststroke breaking 40 for the first time!

Meghan focused on longer events and did a really impressive job throughout the meet! Meghan took off 20 seconds in her 200m Butterfly, finishing with a 3:09.37! She also dropped 44 seconds in her 800m Freestyle, five seconds in her 100m Butterfly and 22 seconds in her 400m Individual Medley!

Rebecca had a really strong 200m Individual Medley, knocking off 12 seconds! She also took off over 30 seconds in her 100m Backstroke and eight seconds in her 50m Breaststroke! Rebecca swam her first 100m Butterfly and did a great job finishing well under two minutes! She took off time in all of her events including her 400m Freestyle!

Stella had big drops in her 200m Individual Medley, 100m Freestyle and 50m Breaststroke, while swimming to best times in all of her events! Stella also raced her first 100m Butterfly and 200m Breaststroke at the meet and swam them both really well!

Tessa took off time and showed great speed in her 50m Butterfly, 50m Freestyle and 50m Breaststroke events! She also set new bests in her 200m Breaststroke and 200m Freestyle!

Emma did a good job racing in her 200m Freestyle, it was her first experience in a 200m event!

Tiger had a fantastic meet with best times in all of his races! Tiger took off five seconds in his 200m Backstroke, 200m Individual Medley and 100m Freestyle! He also knocked 10 seconds off of his 200m Freestyle time!

Phillipa raced the 50m Butterfly, 100m Breaststroke, 100m Freestyle and 100m Backstroke for the first time with great swims!

Ryan swam the 100m Breaststroke, 100m Freestyle and 100m Backstroke for the first time, a big accomplishment for a young swimmer! Ryan also really improved in his 50m Breaststroke!
