USC to become "Cleveland Elite Aquatics"
This fall, University Swim Club will become "Cleveland Elite Aquatics". The same tradition of excellence and all that has made USC great for 50 years will be combined with some new faces, some new ideas, and a new training site. The name allows us to appeal to a broader population, and aligns with out goal of instilling the values required to bring out the most "elite" version of your atheltes, in and out of the pool. The club has undergone immense change and growth over the last four years thanks to a lot of hard work from both the staff and the USC community, and we are looking forward to continuing that growth with a new look and a renewed sense of purpose.
In addition to the name change, we will be opening up a new site this Fall at John Carroll University to be run by our head coach Charlie Lownes. Coach Steve, now Associate Head Coach, will continue to run the Euclid site (w hich has grown from 15 athletes 4 years ago to over 90 this past fall/winter) along with Patti, Danny, Theresa, and Matt. We are actively interviewing coaches for both lead site coach at University School (which has seen a sharp increase in registration this summer) as well as assistants for all sites.
Look for information and flyers for this coming Fall in the next couple of weeks. In the mean time, we've already started to update the website with fall info (under the practice and meets tab).
Other than some new caps, nothing really changes for our returning members. You will still come to the same website for registration and information. Things just might look a little different!
If anyone has any questions don't hesitate to reach out to Charlie or myself. We very much intend to take care of business this summer; we've got some work yet to do under the USC name! But we are very excited about the future of the club, and the community we have around us.
