The Long Course Junior Olympics was held at Miami University in Oxford. OHYA was represented by Anneliese Brouwer, Max Brunner, Jett Sloan and Petal Sloan.
Jett Sloan scored 74 points for the team with the following 10&under boys results:
Second place in the 100 back with a new team record of 1:22.36 and a new zone cut.
Fourth place in the 50 fly improving his team record with a time of 37.03.
Sixth place in the 50 free improving his team record with a time of 32.34 and a zone cut.
Eighth place in the 50 back with a new team record of 39.01 and 100 free with a PB of 1:15.04.
And tenth place in the 100 fly.
Anneliese Brouwer also earned points for the team placing 13th in the 100 free with a time of 1:06.05 and a zone cut, 22nd in the 200 IM, 25th in the 50 back, 21st in the 100 back and 23rd in the 50 free .
Max Brunner placed 33rd in the 200 free, 32nd in the 100 fly, 44th in th 50 free, 35th in the 100 free and improved his team record in the 400 free with a time of 4:42.33 and placed 37th.
Petal Sloan placed 25th in the 50 free with a time of 29.11 and a zone cut and 41st in the 100 free with a new team record of 1:04.94.
Owen Pelzer competed the same weekend in Cleveland at the Speedo Sectionals with the following results:
36th place in the 200 back with a new team record of 2:13.72
48th in the 50 free with a new team record of 24.96
28th place in the 50 back with a new team record of 27.88
He also competed in the 100 fly and the 100 back.
We are so proud of all 5 of our swimmers who swam this past weekend. Congrats to them on their many wonderful achievements! And we wish Jett and Petal fast swims and good luck as they prepare for Zones in a few weeks!
