League Meet Information

Hello Stingrays!

Please find all of the information for this Saturday's League Meet below!

Date:  Saturday, July 27th, 2019

Location:  American Canyon High School, 3000 Newell Drive, American Canyon.  Please note that the forecast calls for hot temperatures, so plan accordingly.  The waiting area outside of the Clerk of the Course and the camp locations are on blacktop, so the ground will be hot.  Please have sandals/flip flops available for kids coming in and out of the pool area.

Time:  There is not an official opening time, but typically the gates are open around 6:30AM.  Coaches meeting is at 7:30 and Stroke and Turn meeting is at 7:45.  The meet is scheduled to start at 8:30 and end at around 4:30.

Meet Programs: This year, the Stingrays have pre-ordered 50 meet programs just for our team.  The programs will be sold for $5 at the Power Breakfast table (if possible, please bring exact change).  Programs can also be purchased at the general program booth, but please note that they tend to sell out relatively quickly!

Team Camp:  Find the map for the team camps here: League Meet Team Camp Map.  There is no Friday set up in the camp area allowed this year.

League Meet Power Breakfast:  For the last few years, we have very successfully fed the Stingray swimmers and their families breakfast before the meet.  There are a few spots still available if you are able to contribute to the table (take a look at the sign up sheet here).  The buffet spread will be set up in the Stingray camp and swimmers can grab a bite to eat after warmups.

Warm Ups:  Benicia will warm up from 7:45-8:00.

Events:  Please see the attachment to access the events that Stingrays will be swimming in.  Please note that free relays are subject to change after the completion of the free event.  Individual and Relay Entries

For families who have never attended an invitational or League Meet before, the check in process is a little different than for regular dual meets.  Swimmers must check in for their swim about 15-20 minutes before their event at Clerk of the Course.  This means you must be aware of who is currently swimming so you can get your swimmer to Clerk at the appropriate time.  The volunteer parents at Clerk will then guide your swimmer into rows of chairs and have them sit, in order, with their heat, until it is their turn to swim. Parents are not allowed past the check in table at Clerk of the Course (but if you have little ones, you can stand outside the roped off chair area so you can still easily see them).  When it is their turn to swim, the volunteer parents will then guide the swimmers onto the pool deck and get them to the appropriate lane to swim their event.

Volunteer Assignments:  ALL FAMILIES (even those who bought out of their volunteer jobs during the regular season) have been given a volunteer work assignment.  Please see the attached file for your volunteer assignment.  Volunteers need to check in with our Volunteer Coordinator, Kathleen Sauter, the morning of the meet.   Volunteer League Job Assignments

Vendors:  The following vendors will be selling food/merchandise at the meet:

  • Jamba Juice
  • Taqueria Esperanza
  • S n K Wings
  • Los Kuyas Catering
  • Tacos El Gory
  • HPST Snack Shack
  • Kona Ice
  • Mystifying Touch (Airbrush Tattoos)
  • GIC Graphics with League t-shirts and sweatshirts

Swim Marshalls:  A friendly reminder regarding safety at League Meet: Parents, please respect the Marshalls at the meet.  The Marshalls are parent volunteers placed throughout the meet so that the swimmers can get to/from the blocks in a timely and safe manner.  They are also stationed in fire lanes and by the bleachers to ensure that no one is standing in front of the bleachers impeding vision of those in the bleachers.  Parents are not allowed behind the blocks.

Pizza Pirate After the Meet:  As has been tradition, we have reserved the back room of Pizza Pirate for after the meet.  It is reserved at 4:30.  We do not know exactly when the meet will be finished but please meet us there after the meet (after all relays and clean up are complete) for a very informal get together.  Buy your own pizza and then hang out with your teammates and celebrate all of the hard work that went into the season.  If they are available, ribbons and medals will be there as well.  If you do not make it to Pizza Pirate, the ribbons and medals will be at the Awards Ceremony for pick up.
