Fundraising Opportunities

The 2019 Swim A Thon has been scheduled for Thursday, October 17th. This is one of our biggest fundraisers of the year, and definitely the most fun! Set up your profiles now and start finding donors. There are lots of fun incentives offered by WRA and USA Swimming, including caps, shirts, bags, and parkas - And the top-earning roster group will win a pizza party! This year, the winning group will be determined by the highest average earnings per participant, to give the smaller groups an opportunity to compete.

Our second largest fundraiser, the 2019-2020 Partnership Campaign is now underway, and will remain open until October 22nd. We've streamlined this campaign, and made it simpler and easier for you to share with local businesses and organizations: The Partnership forms are available to be completed online by clicking here. If you prefer to distribute paper copies, they can be downloaded here.
Our year-round swim lessons are underway and the next session starts September 9th. Keep an eye on our website to be the first to know when new classes are scheduled. More information on our lessons can be found here.

A Note from the Coach: Goal Setting

New season = New goals

Silver, Gold, and Platinum swimmers: Goal-setting emails will be sent out this week. Please try to complete your goal-setting sheets by September 9th.

Blue and Bronze swimmers: Set process-oriented goals for your season, such as practice attendance, specific technique improvement, practice effort, listening skills, hydration, etc. These are goals that you can control. Share them with your parents, and celebrate when goals are met.

Over the next couple of weeks, practice intensity will gradually increase. Please be sure you are bringing water to practice, so you can remain well-hydrated. Parents, this is also the point in the season when you will assume the role of cheerleader, encouraging your swimmers to give their best effort at every practice, and to be as consistent as possible with their training.

At this point in the season, we are focusing on:

  • Increasing intensity
  • Technique, technique, technique
  • Developing good attendance habits and consistent training
