Weekly News (Feb 3-9)

Hello to all Panther Swimmers,

First and foremost, thanks to the many, many supporters that came out to watch the IASAS Swimming Championships. It was great to see so many little Panther Swimmers wearing the future IASAS star shirts and cheering on their older team mates. Very touching to say the least.

Congratulations to our swimmers who preformed one of the best “PB filled” competitions I have ever witnessed. The boys came one race away from having a perfect 100% PB event (that never happens). Achieving all these amazing PBs helped them secure the silver medal again this year. ISB boys have claimed this position 4 out of the last 5 years. Something in the water at ISB!

The girls were in a long drawn out battle for the bronze or silver medal all weekend. In the end they came in 4th by a mere single point. Excellent work for a team with only 10 girls on it.

On a less thrilling note; it seems we are living some trouble times, between the air pollution and corona virus we are seeing some of our swim meet plans getting canceled for this month. Currently, Martin’s Cup and ANS have been removed from our list of competitions. If you are registered for these events you will have received a personal message about the cancelation.

Important Notes:

Reminder: Volunteer hours start back as zero for new semester:

As we all know, volunteering for swim meets is a vital part of the whole swim meet. Without volunteers we simply don't have swim meets. So we now have 4 opportunities to sign up for your hours open on our website. Both Sr/Jr Paloozas’ and Saturday and Sunday Splash Meet. Sign up right away to get the best jobs.

February 10th Makha Bucha Day (No school and no practice)

Speeding tickets from IASAS;

Four age group/school records we broke during a very fast IASAS Swimming Championships this past week.

Emma Koehler led the way with 4 records; 100 and 200 breaststroke and 200 and 400 IM.

Freshman Ryan Kakimseit also broke the 100m back school record and the 200 m back 13/14 age group record.

The boys 400 Medley Relay broke the school record to cap things off. Congratulations to Ryan Kakimseit, Jamie Jenviphakul, Blake Eyre and Marc Makornwattana.
