Regular Practice Today & Important Information for Swimmers/Parents
March 13, 2020 |
VJO Families,
Regular VJO Practice
Today
There will be regular practice today for all
groups. We are currently able to
practice Solano College Pool. Please continue to check your
email for updates. As of now, we plan to hold regular
practice at Solano College next week.
It is our primary priority
is to safeguard the health and safety of our members. For
this reason, each parent must take responsibility for deciding
whether their children should participate in
practices.
We will continue to monitor practice recommendations given by the CDC, USA/PC Swimming and our host facilities. Our coaching staff will be spreading the athletes out in more lanes to give them more space and decreasing the number of swimmers per lane. Coaches will remind athletes about good practice habits, social distancing as well as reminding swimmers not to share equipment or water bottles. Dryland equipment will be disinfected daily
Minimizing Locker Room
Use:
Please minimize locker room
use as much as possible by coming to practice in
your suit and taking a shower at home after practice.
When possible please use the outside bathrooms.

Recommendations
We continue to stress the importance of preventing the spread
of infection and share the following information being circulated
by healthcare officials:
- Avoid getting closer than six feet to anyone coughing or sneezing;
- Wash your hands frequently with soap and water for 20 seconds or use hand sanitizer that has 60-95% alcohol. This is especially important after going to the bathroom, before eating, or after blowing your nose, coughing or sneezing;
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth;
- Cover your mouth with a tissue or your elbow if you cough or sneeze. Throw the tissue in the trash, and then wash your hands;
- Stay home if you are sick, and away from the pool and from fellow team members;
- Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces regularly;
- Monitor the WHO and CDC websites for travel advisories and follow their recommendations.
Everyone is encouraged to seek further information using the
CDC and the WHO websites:
