SwimBC Provincials Recap

Quincy Bender, Josh DeCoteau, Olivia Jakeman, Emily Jones, Lucas Ouellette and Natalie Yu were very impressive at SwimBC Provincial Championships. All six swimmers raced to lifetime best performances racing against the top age group competition in our province. Quincy scored in all six freestyle events, racing to a 4th place finish in the 50m Freestyle, 6th in the 1500m Freestyle, 8th in the 800m Freestyle, 9th in the 200m Freestyle and 11th in the 400m Freestyle. She set new team records in the 200m Freestyle and 1500m Freestyle and now has four qualifying events at the Canadian Olympic Trials. Josh set a new team record in the 1500m Freestyle. He also scored points in the 16&over 100m Backstroke, 800m Freestyle and 1500m Freestyle after just turning 16 a few days before the meet, a great sign of his potential! Olivia had a great 200m Butterfly to get a second swim. Everyone stepped up on our female and mixed relay teams to move our team up in the standings.
