CAST - Covid-19 - Out of the water - Week 5
I've been coaching now for almost 2/3 of my life, and have not been away from a pool deck for more than 2.5 weeks at any time. This is as strange for me as it is the swimmers. (and for some of you parents as well). The optimist in me hopes that we'll be able to do some activities together some time in May. In the meantime - stay healthy - stay safe.
1) am and pm exercises
Please encourage your kids to exercise - If you're stuck at home too, exercise a little along with them. I'm looking for a minimum of 15 minutes in the AM and 15 min in the evening (up to an hour each time). In previous notes I've published many possible dryland routines. I still believe the best is either the yoga for swimmers (free----about 10-12 different workouts) or beachbody.com (different fee options - about $70 for a year with over 1000 workouts available).
Here's another Idea to add on.................Pay to eat..............every time your swimmer goes into the kitchen, it costs either 25 push ups / 25 squats. Here's a chart for the fridge!
2. Nightly video sessions
Join us each weeknight for learningat 5:00 pm.
This week: What can we learn from successful people?
The sessions will last between 30 and 45 minutes.

Last week we covered videos of successful people, giving their ideas on success. This week we'll be back to swimming and will cover races of the 2016 Olympics. It's fun and educational. We have kids from Junior level through level 5 joining us. It's a great way to learn and stay involved with CAST.
Watch - take notes - write down your thoughts.
