USA Swimming Coronavirus Business Resources
Make sure you are having conversations with your Board, School District, or Park District about the possibility of the extended break and what effect it will have on you, your coaches and the families on your team.Look at the potential time disruption. Consider how things could go to potentially get our athletes back in the water. What are you doing for your employees? Painting this picture so you understand what is best for your club with a financial professional/your club's BOD/other guidance is going to determine everything you do forward.
One thing your club may consider is local, state and federal assistance if available. I've shared a few examples below and you may be able to find some others within your own community that are similar. State and Federal examples might be available now or in the very near future. Again - consult with a financial professional/your club's leadership before committing to a course of action.

To our USA Swimming Member Clubs:
USA Swimming Certification Extension for Certification Requirements
USA Swimming has published information with some great information on what to do about your safety certifications that expire during this time when it may be impossible to find a re-certification class.
The American Red Cross is extending certifications that lapse for 90 Days-for First Aid/CPR/AED, Lifeguarding and CPR for Professional Rescuers
I'd love to hear your ideas and talk about what you are doing to stay connected to your team membership
GoSwim Illinois Swimming Super Group-Technique and Drill Videos!
Did you know that we have an Illinois Swimming GoSwim Super Group? There are several video lessons per week that come straight from GoSwim to you!
During this time where we are all looking for ways to keep our athletes engaged and consistently thinking about technique, this provides a great opportunity for sharing with your athletes in a video format like a Zoom meeting or google classroom.
For Coaches this allows you to show your athletes in a video meeting format how to do a drill properly or watch and discuss technical items that they need to be aware of. You can have them watch and give use a google doc to answer questions on the video and what they see and what they should be working on. This can be scaled for any level from 10 and unders all the way up through your senior groups.
These GoSwim Lessons also provide a vital and continuing resource for every coach at every level. Great visuals for athletes and progressions for coaches. From beginners to Olympians, GoSwim has something for you!
If you are not already signed up, Go Swim will be sending you an email, in the next day or so, that will allow you to sign up for the Super Group and get Started right Away.
And the Best Thing IS Right Now You Can get Access to All Content at GoSwim for Free!
