Weekly Mailer - Weekly Workouts, Weekly Challenge, Logo Contest & Zoom Meetings
April 27, 2020 |
Happy
Monday VJO Swimmers & Parents!
Below are Coach Jennifer and Coach Maureen's Workout YouTube
videos for this week with step by step instructions. We hope you
guys were all as inspired as we were by last week’s jump
roping challenge. This week we have incorporated jumping rope into
our weekly workouts. I know I want to get better at jumping rope
now. If I don’t have a jump rope available I just jump in
place with a pretend rope.
Coach Maureen and Coach Jennifer will be doing the 30 minute
Ab & Cardio video 4 to 5 times a week. We will be doing the 15
minute Jump Rope Workout w/Push-ups, Squats & Planks video 3 to
4 times a week. We will also be doing the 20 minute Full Body Deep
Stretch For Tight Bodies video 2-3 times a week to help maintain
our flexibility.
1st Video is a Helpful Tool - The first video
“Top 10 Jump Rope Tips for Beginners”, is not a
workout, it is a very helpful tool to learn how to jump rope more
effectively. I only watched this video once, but I learned so much.
Do you know the proper length your jump rope should be? I do
now.
In addition to the videos, Coach Jennifer goes for a 1 hour
walk or bike ride each day with her dog and family. Coach Maureen
also hikes with her dog Cali each day.

workouts. Each group will have 2 weekly Zoom meetings (every Monday

Weekly
Challenge - Can you Juggle?
This week we are challenging all VJO swimmers to learn a new
talent...juggling! We had a few requests last week after swimmers
had to juggle a soccer ball with their feet. We are encouraging
everyone to take this challenge outside, where you won't break
anything! While you are learning how to juggle, snap a picture or
take a quick video and share it with your coach. You can email your
picture or short video to Coach Jennifer
([email protected]) or send it through our team
Facebook messenger, team Instagram messenger or GroupMe (for
Junior/Junior 2/Seniors). We will post all of your weekly
Challenge pictures and videos from this week's Weekly Challenge on
our team Facebook and Instagram page on Sunday, May 2nd.
