Weekly News: Oct. 12-18

Hello to all Panther Swimmers,

This is the last week before we are off for the October break, but it is certainly not a lite one. Varsity swim season starts on Monday, so the high school team will be out in full force. Also, Monday and Wednesday are big long-distance days as the squads try to swim to Phuket for our annual fund-raising event.

Let’s see a great big effort from all of our squads, remember we need to add all of our training up to almost 700 KM, in swim terms that is 700,000 meters or 28,000 lengths for our team to swim in two days. We can do it!

Important Notes:

Super Important: Volunteers for Swimfest Dual Meet (Nov 7th):

This meet is a 3-hour commitment. We will have our 10 and under swim in the morning and our 11 and over swim in the afternoon.

WITHOUT VOLUNTEERS OUR KIDS CAN NOT SWIM! Please help out! It’s the best seat in the house!

Swimathon Practices this week! Monday and Wednesday October12 and 14th:

Please bring in pledges and give to your coaches. Try your best to make one of those two practices. I have attached pledge sheets again to this email,

No practice Tuesday October 13th

Palooza PB Swim Champions are up on the board:

Check out the swimmers who improved the most in our last meet. Middle School swimmers had so many 10 plus second PBs; very impressive.

More speeding tickets at Sr. Palooza:

Gene Sunthornrangsri was on fire this past week. She broke an age group record in all 3 of her swims. The 100m backstroke record was 16 years old, so this was a very impressive effort.

The other two records were 100 Br and 200 IM.

Great work Gene!
