PNS 2021 COVID-19 GRANT PROGRAM

 The Pacific Northwest Swimming Board of Directors has voted to provide economic support and aid to member teams and clubs of Pacific Northwest Swimmingto help maintain viability through the COVID-19 crisis.  The team grants will be based on $70 per registered swimmers (year-round and outreach athletes only).  The athlete count will be based upon registrations as of Friday, January 22, 2021.  Applications must be received by the PNS Office no later than Friday, January 22nd, 2021.

Applications should be emailed to [email protected] with a copy to [email protected].   With the application, a short statement describing the impact on team and club operations is required (note: financial statements are NOT required, just a simple description of the impacts).  A brief description of how the grant monies will be used to facilitate continued training and return to competition will be sufficient to describe the return to viability plan.

To be eligible to apply for a Pacific Northwest Swimming COVID-19 Relief Program Grant, a team must have:
• Suffered demonstrable financial losses as a result of the economic effects of COVID-19;
• Incurred continued operating expenses, and
• Developed a return to viability plan through use of the grant and other resources.

Questions regarding the program may be directed to David Baer, PNS Finance  Vice-Chair at [email protected].

FROM GENERAL CHAIR, Bob Keller - Second Round of PPP Funding Available

The weekly USAS Videocon reminded all LSC’s that the Federal Government passage of the second COVID relief act includes a new Payroll Protection Program (PPP).  This is available to all small businesses whether or not that business participated in round 1 last summer.  As in 2020, the program will provide loans that will be forgiven if the conditions are met.  There is also an Economic Injury Disaster Load (EIDL) program associated that allows grants up to $10,000.  USAS recommends that each organization contact the same lender if the organization participated in the first PPP program or your normal financial organization if this will be the first application.  USAS will also provide reference banks / financial institutions if assistance is needed.
