2021 Short Course State Swim Meet

The State Committee met this morning, Sunday January 24th, 2021  to discuss the 2021 Short Course State Meet. Based on the current situation the decision was made to forgo a traditional state meet. Not knowing when teams can get back in to practice, not knowing if we may have to stop again, not knowing if teams can travel, we made the difficult decision to cancel the 2021 Short Course State Meet.

On the bright side, the Championship Committee came to the meeting with an alternative. We will be having a Virtual State Invitational meet instead. What does that mean exactly? We will be sending out information in the upcoming week with all the information you will need to know about the meet.  The main things you need to know now is it will be open to all YMCA swimmers in the state and you will be able to swim in your pool or at another YMCA.

This is not a permanent change to the state meet, but a temporary change for this year. We are excited to bring this new format of an all-inclusive meet to the teams across the state. We want to continue to provide a positive and exciting meet to the YMCA swimmers. We look forward to seeing everyone’s results.
