Announcing the 2021 Spring Virtual Leaderboard Challenge
February 24, 2021
Members of Michigan Swimming,
I am pleased to share long-awaited details of the Michigan Swimming, Inc. 2021 Spring Virtual Leaderboard Challenge. The challenge will take place from March 5, 2021 through March 28, 2021 and will provide opportunities for all members of our community.
We encourage any club that is able to host a sanctioned or approved competition during this period to do so, and we encourage these clubs to invite others who may not be in as fortunate of a position. To this end, Michigan Swimming has waived collection of sanction fees and removed the $1 per athlete surcharge for all competitions hosted during the challenge period.
To help clubs locate competitions during the challenge, we will post all sanctioned and approved competition information on the Michigan Swimming website. Although information is posted, teams may still impose participation restrictions as needed to comply with applicable public safety protocols.
If you have any questions on the above, please contact me or any of the below individuals:
Josh Wood, Chairman of the Michigan Swimming, Inc. Championship Meet Strategy Committee - [email protected]

I would like to express my most sincere gratitude to the Michigan Swimming, Inc. Championship Meet Strategy Committee for their tireless efforts in designing this program. The committee worked around the clock to ensure every athlete is afforded a meaningful opportunity this Spring.
I sincerely hope you are excited to participate in the challenge, and I welcome any feedback you have along the way. I look look forward to the possibility of returning to in-person, traditional-style championship competitions this Summer.
Chairman of the Board of Directors
