Caroline Porterfield of UASC Commits to Georgia Tech

Caroline Porterfield of UASC Commits to Georgia Tech

UASC has another college commitment among our high school (Golden Bear group) seniors for 2022.

Caroline Porterfield has committed to swim at Georgia Tech University beginning in the fall of 2022.

She told Swimming World:

“I am extremely excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at Georgia Tech! I want to thank my family, coaches and friends who have been by my side throughout this process. I can’t wait to be a part of this amazing team. #GOJACKETS”

A talented sprinter, Porterfield trains year-round with Upper Arlington Swim Club and earned three best times at the Oxford 18&U Winter Championships in December. In Summer 2019, she earned 100% best times at Ohio LCM Seniors before going on to race four events at Geneva Futures.

Her best times include:

  • 50 Free - 23.15
  • 100 free – 51.21
  • 100 Fly – 56.21
  • 200 IM - 2:05.99

Currently a junior at Upper Arlington High School, Porterfield won the 50 free and placed fifth in the 100 free last month while taking 11th in the former event during her sophomore season. She has also led off the state champion 200 Free Relays the last two years.

Even with 1.5 years to go before arriving in Atlanta in the fall of 2022, Porterfield will add valuable depth both individually and on relays. She would be their second-fastest 50 freestyler on their lineup this past season, as well as rank No. 4 in the 100 fly and No. 5 in the 100 free.

Congratulations to Caroline and the entire Porterfield family!
