The results from the Milford Rotary meet last weekend are now official and here is a wrap up of the weekend. In this meet swimmers could swim 3 individual events and 2 relays, and it was a scored meet with the top 12 places getting points.
Swimming in her very first meet as a Sailfish, 6 year old Chloe Adler swam 2 events, 25 free and 25 back, and placed 1st in both of them in her first 2 races as a Sailfish! Way to go Chloe! She’s following in big sister Maddie’s footsteps.
In the 9-10 age group we had Ruby Emerson and Molly Key swimming for us. Ruby got 3 top 6 finishes in her events, 4th in the 100 IM and the 50 breaststroke and 6th in the 50 free. She got best times in all three events too! Nice going Ruby! Molly swam to 3 top 6 spots as well and got PRs in two of them, the 100 IM and 50 free. She was also part of the medley relay that placed 3rd. Good job Molly!
For our 11-12 age group we had Maise Emerson, Grace Howe, Kara McIntyre, Riley Pope and Cindy Thomas swimming for us. Maise grabbed a 5th place spot in her 200 IM and saw a big 10 second drop in her 50 free. She was also a member of the 3rd place 200 medley relay. Nice going Maise! Grace had a fast day in the pool with three 1st place finishes and a PR in the 200 IM, she was also a member off the 200 medley relay. Nice work Grace! Kara had 2 top 6 swims, in her 50 back and 50 fly and dropped almost 7 seconds in her 100 free. Way to go Kara! Newcomer Riley also scored points for the Sailfish with a 6th place in the 50 back and a 12th in 50 breast. Riley showed her team spirit and stepped up in a big way to swim the 15-20 girls 200 free relay making the critical 4th swimmer so the older girls could swim that relay. Thank you Riley! Cindy was also in the points for the Sailfish grabbing 2 8th place finishes in the 50 free and 50 breast, with PRs in both events. She was also a member of the 200 medley relay that placed 3rd. Good job Cindy!
Our 13-14 Age group was represented by Madilyn Adler, Emily Hou, Lily Peterson and Thanida Thomas. Maddie showed her freestyle prowess with a 2nd in the 50 free and 3rd in the 100 free. She was also part of the 2nd place 13-14 girls 200 medley relay with Lily, Thanida and Emily. Nice work Maddie! Emily swam to top 6 spots in all of her events as well, with a 5th in the 100 breast and the 200 IM and 6th in the 100 free, with PRs in all of them, including a 7 second drop in her 100 breast. Way to go Emily! Lily took home 3 2nd place finishes in her 200 IM, 100 free and 100 breast events with a PR in the 2 IM. Nice work Lily! Thanida took home 3rd place honors in the 200 IM, 4th in the 100 breast and 5th in the 100 free, with a PR in the 200 IM. Good job Thanida!
The 15-20 age group had Aryaa Bhusari and Rebecca Klements swimming for us. Aryaa was in the points for all of her events with a 3rd place finish in the 50 free and a PR there as well, 5th in the 100 back and 7th in the 100 free. Nice going Aryaa! Becca had a pretty good meet with a 1st in the 100 fly, 2nd in the 200 free and 3rd in the 100 free. Not only did she win the 100 butterfly but she set a meet record with that swim which was a great come from behind victory and a very smart race. Congratulations Becca!
We placed 5th over all in our division which is a pretty good finish considering that we had no boys to score points for us and very few relays which count as double points in the totals. Every Sailfish scored points for us and almost all of them had at least one PR during the meet. Good job to the Sailfish and congratulations again to Becca for her meet record!
