Junior Olympics Recap

Southern California JUNIOR OLYMPICS in Riverside

The following 17 Tridents swam at the Junior Olympics last weekend. Kyle Cao, Esther Cheng, Ethan Chen, Jacky He, Sophie He, Brendan Lee-Nguyen, Michael Lee, Jennifer Liang, Charlie Lin, Karen Prawira, Jaqueline Shen, Charles Tam, Kaven Tantiga, Kyle Tsuei, Ashlyn Woo, Sydney Yang, Anthony Zhang.  Trident finished 9th in te combined score and 8th in the boys. Thsi was a sensational meet for Trident.

  • Charles Tam won Gold in the 15-18 100 and 200 Breaststrokes
  • Brendan Lee-Nguyen won eth 11-12 400 free
  • Kyle Tsuei won Gold in the 11-12 50, 100 and 200 Free, 50 and 100 back 
  • Kaven Tantiga, Brendan Lee-Nguyen and Michael Lee joined Kyle to win the 11-12 boys 200 Free relay and silver in the 400 Medley Relay

All-American

Congratulations to Kaimin Tsuei was awarded NISCA High School All-Amercan honors for being in the top 100 for girls 100 yard backstroke.  Congratulations Kai-Min.

Western Zone All Stars

Kyle Tsuei will be representing Southern California Swimming and Trident this week at the Western Zone meet in Lewisville, TX.  Teams will travel from California, Oregon, Washington, Arizona, Utah, Montana, Hawaii.  Congrats to Kyle for being selected and goodluck.

2021 USA Swimming Futures Championships

Kelly Prawira and Kaimin Tsuei both competed at the 2021 USA Swimming Futures Championships in Santa Clarita, CA.   Kelly Prawira and Kai-Min Tsuei both qualified for 2nd swims in their specialties.  With Kelly Prawira finishing 4th in the 200 breaststroke. 

2021 USA Swimming Summer Championships in Irvine, CA

With Kelly Prawira and Kaimin Tsuei both having qualified for Summer Junior Nationals they will be competing this week against some of the top athletes west of the Mississippi. Best of luck to these two.
