WELCOME BACK VJO FAMILIES!
We hope everyone had a fun and relaxing break. Today, Monday, August 23th is the first day of Fall Practice. We are very excited to see everyone back at the pool today. Please remember that we are starting our New Fall Practice Schedule today. The New Fall Practice Schedule is listed below. Please be aware that High School Water Polo and Swim Lessons will be also going on at the pool, so parking could be more difficult for the next couple months. Below I have included our Upcoming Events and Fall Meet/Event Schedule. See you all at the pool today! 
 
 
 
 
 
2021 VJO FALL PRACTICE SCHEDULE 
***Beginning Mon, Aug 23rd 2021***
Practice Start Time:  This fall we have taken out the 15 min line-up time at the beginning of each practice. The practice time listed below is the time the group will be getting into the water and starting practice. The groups will no longer be lining-up outside the pool. Please meet on the pool deck at the start of your practice time. Plan to arrive 10-15 min prior to the start time listed to be able to get ready for practice. 
 
Hammerheads Groups (Coach Daniel)
Hammerheads 1    M/T/TH/F 4:00-4:45pm (no practice Wed)

Hammerheads 2    M/T/TH/F 5:00-5:45pm (no practice Wed)

Leopard Sharks Group (Coach Jennifer)

UPCOMING EVENTS:
 
SWIM-A-THON & POOL PARTY / POTLUCK  
Saturday, Sept 11th 
2:45-7pm
On Saturday, Sept 11th we will be having our annual Swim-A-Thon Fundraiser from 2:45-4pm at the Cunningham Pool. Please arrive at 2:45pm to check in and get your lane assignment. The Swim-A-Thon will start promptly at 3:00pm. Swimmers will have 1 hour to swim as many lengths as possible (max 200 lengths). This is one of our biggest team fundraisers of the year. After the Swim-A-Thon we will have a Pool Party and Potluck from 3-7pm. All our swimmers, parents and siblings are invited. Bring a dish to share. We will have the diving boards open and make sure to bring your pool toys. Get ready for a fun afternoon at the pool.
 
 
 
 
WAVES C/B/A+ MEET
Sept 25-26th 2021
St. Helena Aquatic Center
***OPEN FOR ENTRIES ***
The WANV C/B/A + Meet on September 25-26th in St. Helena is open for entries and will be the first meet of our fall season.  This meet is recommended for all VJO swimmers. This meet will fill very quickly, so make sure to get signed up today!  
LOCATION: ST. HELENA AQUATIC CENTER 1401 GRAYSON AVE. ST. HELENA, CA 94574
TIME: Arrive at 8:15am. We will get in as a team to warm-up at 8:30am. The meet will begin at 9:30am each day. 
EVENTS:
Hammerhead 1 & 2 Groups - All Hammerheads can enter the freestyle and backstroke events. Please talk to coach Daniel prior to entering any other events. Do not enter your child in events they are not ready for. 
Leopard & Mako - Please enter 3 events each day. Choose one favorite event, one challenging event and one event to keep you well rounded.
Junior, Pre-Senior & Senior - Please enter at least 3 events each day. Athletes may swim a max of 4 events each day. Choose one favorite event, one challenging event and one event to keep you well rounded.
ENTRY FEE: $4.50 per event plus an $8.00 participation fee per Athlete. Make sure you "Go To Payment Page" and pay for your events with a credit card online. If you do not pay for your events your entry will not be submitted.
ENTRIES: Entries will be submitted online via Fast Swims:  http://www.fastswims.com
ENTRY DEADLINE:  September 18th 2021 (meet will fill prior to this date... enter ASAP)
HOW TO ENTER A MEET USING FAST SWIMS:   
1. Have the swimmers USA Swimming/Pacific Swim membership number ready. The number is shown on the Pacific Swimming membership card. You can find your swimmers membership card on "My Deck Pass"
2: Decide which events the swimmer should enter. Swimmers are limited to 4 events.
3: Click here to enter the meet  http://www.fastswims.com
- Click on “Enter Meet”
- Login or create a User ID and password for the site. We will use this site to enter meets again. 
- Click on the meet that you are looking for "PC-WANV CBA+" 
4. Enter your swimmer/s in the meet and select their events.  
5 The system will only load up the entries that the swimmer is eligible to swim in at that specific event.
6. "Go To Payment Page" - Make sure you pay for your swimmers entries with a credit card online immediately afterwards or your entries will not be submitted.
 
 
 
 
 
A big CONGRATULATIONS to all of our VJO swimmers that competed in the REAL Championships Meet on Aug 6-8th. Our team win 1st place overall and also was awarded with the 2021 Spirit Award. Great Job VJO swimmers! Keep up that amazing team spirit! Go SHARKS!
