DCST National Results (Day 1)
Day 1 of the National Championships only consisted of one event, the 1500 Freestyle; but this event was a great one for DCST. In an extremely exciting race, Emily Launer had an outstanding swim while earning a 2nd place finish. She had a 16.5 second time drop from her previous best time which was also the previous DCST Team Record. On the men’s side, Grant Alef earned an impressive 8th place finish.
For their efforts, both Emily and Grant earned National All-American honors. This is the 19th time that each of these swimmers have earned this honor which is tops among the All-Time DCST National All-American list. With these swims, they moved out of a three way tie with former DCST Swimmer, Matt Chambers.
