It has been 18+ months since the club has competed in a swim meet. The dedication your swimmers have shown during that time has been important. With the opportunity to race again and times displayed throughout the meet. These fast results were because of their hard work and perserverance through this pandemic. The coaches are very proud of all the swimmers!
Being unable to compete in a while, best times were to be expected. Regardless of the fact, it was great to see the club achive 77% best times in individual events. An awesome start to the season and the first rung on the ladder reached.
Here are some highlights from this past weekend...
There was a 27 year old club record that was beaten. The relay team of Meadow Liversuch, Finley Lothian, Amelie Gouttin and Makena Wood swam the 200 meter Free Relay in a time of 1:49.84. Besting the old time of 1:50.70. Great job girls!
There were new time standards achieved, which has helped our National and Provincial teams grow. Here is a list of swimmers on those teams.
Really great job swimmers! The coaches want this list to grow. We will keep working with your swimmers on achieving new time standards and get the chance to represent our club at the National and Provinical level.
There were over a handful of swims that were fast enough to get on some of the Top 10 lists. It is good to see some new names that will be added. Keep up the fast swimming! These will be updated in the near future.
A shout out to all the parents who helped volunteer upstairs, timing, officiating and behind the scenes. The weekend wouldn't have gone as smoothly as it did. Your help is always appreciated. Thank you!
One last note. The team atomsphere and support for one another was really positive. That is something that the coaches would like everyone to keep building on. We were really happy to see the swimmers being great teammates and making the weekend more enjoyable for each other.
Well done LASC!
