Highlights from the AMAC Marlin Marquee

A small squad of swimmers headed east to the AMAC Marlin Marquee in Medicine Hat. This meet had a Time Trial vibe to it. Regardless of the few teams that were there, they made the best out of the situation and had some fast swims throughout the weekend.

There were 6 Provinical Trials time standards achieved. Sara Kozub had 3 qualifying swims, all of them in her breaststroke events. She swam a 3:11.02 in the 200m, 1:28.18 in the 100m and 39.40 in the 50m. Jayda Tymko had 2 of the qualifying times both in her backstroke events. She swam a 2:44.32 in the 200m and 1:16.12 in the 100m. Bronwyn Hamer qualified with a time of 1:27.99 in the 100m breaststroke. Great job girls!

The camaraderie and support the group had for each other was noticed by a parent from Medicine Hat. She wanted me to pass on how impressed she was with how polite you were to each other and that is something she hasn't seen in awhile, even with the teams her children are on. I am very proud of the swimmers for representing LASC in a positive light! Let's keep that up in practices and future meets.

This crew was great to work with. It is easy to coach when you are having fun!
