DCST Swimmers Help Team Illinois Win Central Zone Championships
            Six DCST swimmers helped Team Illinois win the Central Zone Championships over teams from Wisconsin, Minnesota, Michigan and Ohio. DCST swimmer Daniel Hein had a very impressive weekend. Competing in the Boys Ages 11 – 12 Age Group, he took home a 2nd in the 100 Backstroke, a 3rd in the 50 Backstroke, 5th in the 50 Butterfly, 5th in the 100 Butterfly, 18th in the 100 Freestyle, and 19th in the 200 Freestyle. He also represented Team Illinois on 3 relays. He swam backstroke on both the 200 and 400 Medley Relays. The 400 Medley Relay finished in 1st, while the 200 Medley was 2nd. Hein also helped Team Illinois finish 5th in the 400 Freestyle Relay. Five of Daniel’s swims were new DCST Team Records (100 Freestyle, 50 Backstroke, 100 Backstroke, 50 Butterfly and 100 Butterfly).
            Caitlynn Moon lowered her best time in the 13 – 14 year old Girls 1500 Freestyle while earning a 9th place finish. She also took 33rd place in the 400 Freestyle. DCST was well represented in the Girls ages 11 – 12 division with Jensen Keck and Alexa Miller each swimming 4 events. Keck was 20th in the 400 Freestyle, 38th in the 50 Breaststroke, 40th in the 100 Breaststroke, and 75th in the 50 Freestyle, while Miller was 28th in the 200 IM, 29 in the 400 Freestyle, 32nd in the 100 Butterfly, and 68th in the 50 Butterfly. Athena Ye, 29th in the Girls ages 10 and younger 100 Backstroke, and Cole Moon, 29th in the Boys ages 10 and younger 100 Butterfly, rounded out DCST’s swims for the weekend.
