As many of you are probably aware by now, Caitlyn Forman is in Hawaii representing the United States Of America as a member of the Junior Pan Pac Team. She qualified for this team for finishing 2nd at this summer's Junior Nationals.
Caitlyn's meet got off to an unbelievable start when she touched the wall in the 100 backstroke in a 1:02.08 finishing with the 2nd fastest time in the preliminaries only to get out of the pool and find out that she was disqualified for being completely submerged at the finish. " I knew my finish was not good but I did not think it was completely underwater", forman explained. It was difficult to swallow knowing not only did she go her best time but she would have a chance at achieving a huge goal of getting an international medal.
Keeping her composure, Caitlyn was able to recover today and go a life time best in her 100 freestyle an event she is continuing to work on to make it more competitive. " When I received the text from her that said "Boo Yah", I knew things were ok. She has moved on and is looking forward to her 200 backstroke on Saturday" Coach Jason explained.
Caitlyn will swim the 200 backstroke on Saturday and the 50 free on Sunday before returning home. The Clippers are very proud of Caitlyn for her accomplishments this season.
