The Peachtree City Water Polo Club won 4 games over the weekend – 2 each against Harrison High School and Wheeler High School. PTC WPC beat both teams even though 7 players had to play each game with no substitutes. The team is comprised by swimmers from the Southern Crescent Aquatic Team.
On Saturday, PTC won a hard fought game against Harrison 13-12 at Collins Hill in Lawrenceville. After a forty-five minute break, the team played their second game and defeated Wheeler 11-6. Robbie Scott led the team with 4 goals in each game, Sydney Currenti scored her first 2 goals of the season and Chris Moroz led the defensive effort.
On Sunday, PTC played Harrison again at the Cobb Aquatic Center in Marietta. Playing from behind the entire game, the team tied the game with 13 seconds left on a goal by Robbie Scott. The team won in a penalty shoot out with all 5 players scoring and Vishnu Iyengar making a fantastic save to earn the victory. In the second game, PTC defeated Wheeler 10-5 holding the Wildcats to 2 goals over the final 3 quarters. Mark Buck led the team with 5 goals.
