Greetings all Aquacowboys swimmers, parents and coaches. It's been great to be back in the water after a break, and to see so many dedicated swimmers in the pool during the winter. This week the Jr's and Sr's have been watching a video about John Wooden's Pyramid of Success. Here is a quote from John Wooden:
"Success comes from knowing that you did your best to become the best you are capable of becoming."
John Wooden's UCLA Basketball teams won 10 NCAA Championships. It has been great to study his Pyramid of Success and to talk about it with the kids. We think learning and applying the concepts he presents will help the people on our team achieve their highest potential.
Here are a few upcoming events:
Jan 15-16 Cal Invit (Swimmers with Sr. Qualifying times only)
Jan 22-23 SRVLA CBA+ (all swimmers who are not going to Cal Invit)
Feb 5-6 Zone 2 Championships (TEAM Meet, All swimmers who have at least 1 B time and who are not planning on doing summer league, please sign up. Coaches will enter relays.)
This is a great time of the season for LAC swimmers to make big progress. Through consistent attendance, good listening, and industriousness, each member of LAC can reach his/her goals. Special recognition to Tori, Sophia, Matthew, Nicolette, Ben, Rachel, and AnneMarie for making the move from Novice Gold to Junior 1.
The coaches will be attending the Pacific Swimming Coaches' Clinic this weekend where we will hear from head U. Texas Women's Coach Kim Brackin, and National Team Coach Dick Schoulberg from Mecklenburg Academy. We are sure to learn some great information which we can bring back to our team.
Next week we will have more highlights from each individual group. Have a great week!
