A note from Head Coach, John Bitter:
Congratulations to SCSC for a fantastic swimming weekend, January 14-16, 2011
As the Head Coach of this program the past five years and having been a part of the SCSC family since 1995 as a coach, I cannot tell you how proud I am of all of our swimmers for their efforts and performances at the Austin Grand Prix in Austin, Texas and at the Zone 1 South Championships held at our pool. As you will read later in the Weekly Chlorine, the amount of best times turned in by our younger swimmers during the Zone weekend was amazing and speaks to the dedication, the hard work, and the enthusiasm that each of our swimmers puts into the program, and to the proud work of our coaching staff. I could not be more pleased with the staff that we have assembled here at Santa Clara. At the Austin Grand Prix, we took 14 swimmers to the meet and came back with some outstanding performances at a meet in which swimmers such as Michael Phelps, Ryan Lochte, Katie Hoff, and Jason Lezak competed. We had several of our swimmers compete in finals (top 8) and consolation finals (top 16) throughout the three day competition. I hope some of you were able to follow our results on Twitter, as we have now established both a Facebook and Twitter account for the club.

Finally I would like to thank all of our parents who gave of their time during the Zone 1 South Championship weekend to volunteer to work. I know the time that many of you spent here working throughout the meet is often forgotten about after the meet is complete, but I have not and I thank you and appreciate all that each of you have done to continue to make our club special and a place that hosts some of the best meets in the country.

SCSC Senior II Meet
Good luck all athletes participating in our Senior II meet this weekend! We came out with an astounding 14 best times, a great achievement for an in-season long course meet! If you would like to see a more in-depth results summary, see the notes on our Facebook page:

Great job to all of our Zone Participants! We won the meet by nearly tripling the second place team’s point count! We had 1075 best times along with MANY new PRT, FW and JO cuts! Congratulations to:
