Weekly Update

Greetings all Aquacowboys Families , it’s been another great week of practice!  The Seniors and some of the Juniors have a meet coming up this weekend in Santa Cruz, and many swimmers have already signed up for the Montclair Pentathlon.  Thanks to the Board Members for putting in extra time this week going over the Budget.

Here’s a quote for this week :

“There is little success when there is little laughter.”  Andrew Carnegie

This quote helps me to appreciate the awesome bonding we see in practices every day, the friendships that are being developed on our team and the chaos of the pre-post practice LAC hot tub ritual.

Here are some upcoming events :

CAB Threshers Sr T&F meet -  This weekend our swimmers will compete in a trials and finals meet with some of the best swimmers in Northern California.  A trials and finals meet means that the fastest swimmers from the morning will swim again in the evening.  This is the format used for most major meets such as JO’s, Far Westerns, Sectionals, Jr & Sr Nationals, and Olympic Trials.  Let’s have a great meet!

LAC Bowling Night -  An LAC tradition, we will be at Granada Bowl on Tuesday the 22nd from 4-6 pm.  Cost is $10.  There is no swimming practice this afternoon.

Montclair Pentathlon March 12-   Several swimmers have already signed up for this great opportunity.  If you are 14 or younger, have less than 6 JO times and have yet to sign up for the meet, please do so ASAP.  It is one day, you swim 5 events, and your times will count in the USA swimming database.  T-Shirts awarded to the top eight high point winners in each age group, each gender.

LAC Annual Spring Talent Show -  We are planning on having a talent show at LVTC in the club room on April 20th from 4-6.  Please start to brainstorm in preparation for a great performance.  Last year was fantastic, with songs, dances, videos, and instrumental performances.  We are looking forward to another wonderful display of LAC talent this year.

It was a great week of practice for all groups.  Special recognition to Melinda for being a leader in the Novice Black, Celine for stepping up as a leader in the Novice Gold group, to Adrianna R. and Allie C. for smashing their best ever kick set standards, to Katie K. for swimming within 10 seconds of her best 500 free time in practice, and to Brendan S. for having his best ever 25 breast time.  We are excited about what’s upcoming for this great team.  Keep up the intentness and industriousness, it will surely bring great swimming experiences in the future!

Thanks all LAC parents, swimmers and coaches for the enthusiasm you put into this team.  Your support of this community of children is great and they are developing awesome skills, friendships, and habits.  Have a great week!
