Divisional Champs Wrap-Up: March 26-27, 2011

Spring Divisional Champs Wrap-Up:  March 26-27, ‘11

Congratulations BCST swimmers for another great season of swimming, capped off by an outstanding showing at Spring Divisional Champs March 26th and 27th.  Twelve and under swimmers once again proved that there is no greater motivation than a trophy for the top eight pentathlon finishers, and the 13 and over swimmers raised the level of ‘their game’ in order to qualify for finals.

Thousands of swimmers from across the PNS gathered at KCAC for the long two day affair.  Hopefully you arrived early to guarantee yourself a parking spot in the lot so you didn’t have to endure a mile long walk to the pool, or risk a parking ticket by trying out a no parking zone or fire lane.  But, once settled into the friendly confines of the pool, swimmers swam focused and with a purpose.  Times fell all weekend long, the results of a long season of hard work.

There were several great swims, but special note must be made of Marissa Bennett’s 100 free.  Swimming in what might have been her final yards competition with BCST, she broke the 1:00 barrier for the first time in her career, finishing to the wall with a 59.76.  Congratulations Marissa!

And great Job to all BCST swimmers for a great season and great meet!!
