Seven swimmers from the Napa Valley Swim Team recently competed in the 2011 Far Western Championship Swim Meet. This was a five-day meet held at the Morgan Hill Aquatic Complex, March 31-April 3. Over 180 teams and 1,600-plus swimmers from as far away as Canada, Hawaii, Utah, Virginia, Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, Wyoming, Oregon, Nevada, and all of California competed at what is considered to be the most competitive age group swim meet in the country.

In the girls 11-12 year-old division, 12-year-old Grace Murphy competed in the 50-yard breaststroke and achieved a best time of 35.07. Twelve-year-old Olivia Ha-Hoang competed in the 50 freestyle (27.46) and the 100 freestyle (1:08.83).
