All Out ASSAULT On The Record Book!

The 2011 Season started on September 1, 2010, and ended with our season ending meet at the AAU Junior Olympic National Championships in New Orleans. During this year our swimmers mounted an all out assault on the record book.

Amarillo Swim Team had records set in nearly every age group, which is divided up into 10 & Under, 11-12, 13-14, 15-16, 15 & Over, and Open/Senior division. Some meets divide these groups even further and include an 8 & Under or 6 & Under division, and the 15-16 group is normally bunched together into a 15 & Over division. Both boys and girls saw a lowering of marks this season.

In total, there were 11 Short Course records set during the season from September to April. The team changed up some training methods and went back to work for the Long Course season after our Short Course season concluded with a 3rd place finish at the West Texas Championships hosted by the City of Midland Aquatics Club.

In April we traveled to a new meet to Jump Start our Long Course season, and the records started to fall. At the end of the season this past week at the AAU Junior Olympic National Championships a count was taken - 31 team records had been set and reset during the LC season!

This season saw an amazing 42 records from our swimmers! - Take a look at the "Records" Tab and you'll find each set of records as the dust settles divided into two links - one for our Short Course Records, and another for the Long Course Records. Or you could just click the links in this email...

Take a look at those records soon - we go back to work, rested, ready, and reloaded, on August 22nd...

Way To Go Amarillo Swim Team!!
