AQUAZOTS:   Strong US National performance in the middle of peak training

Our 4 athletes were strong competitors at US Winter Nationals at Georgia Tech last week.  The team members were Daniela Georges, Megan Rankin, Corey Okubo and Kaitlyn Albertoli.

Corey Okubo had an amazing meet, placing in ALL Finals.  He was 28th overall in the high point rankings! Corey’s exceptional performance powered Aquazots  to a 26th place out of 44 teams.  He earned his 3rd (200 Back: 2:04.10) and 4th (200 IM 2:05.28) Olympic Trial cuts.    Daniela Georges had a great meet smashing the 13-14 Girls team records in the 100 Back (1:05.02) and 200 Back (2:19.51).  Megan Rankin finished a solid 8th in the 800 Free and 28th in the 400 IM.  Kaitlyn Albertoli, competing in her first US Nationals, finished strong achieving her Winter National and Jr. National Cuts in the 50 and 100 Free respectively. Despite competing in the middle of training, our Aquazot National team finished a respectable 9th overall for Club teams represented.   Through grit and determination our team competed with the best in the world and delivered solid results.
